Daniel

Well I am not sure how many of you follow my blog so as I sit at work this quiet Saturday morning I thought I would post a blog here about Dan's recent adventures. I call them adventures because life is an adventure and he is always creating new experiences for us. HA!

On January 26th he was on a Motorist Assist call at about 7 am. We have had massive amounts of snow and he was called to help a lady get her car out of an intersection because she was stuck. Well in the process of helping her he as the doctors call it ruptured the tendons and muscle of his right bicep off the bone. He was able to get back into his patrol car and drive back to the station where he had the ambulance meet him. They transport him to the hospital. As I am getting ready to literally walk out the door to take the girls to school the phone rings and the caller id show the hospital calling. Never a good thing but not as scary as the Lt. or Sgt. calling...believe me I have gotten those calls too. Anyway it's Dan calling to let me know that I am going to need to come and get him. They had splinted his arm and later that day he had an appointment with the orthopedic doctor who without much of an examination said "Yep we are gonna have to operate". So surgery was scheduled for Thursday. It went exactly as planned. Then Dan decided to not wake up from the anesthesia and had to be transported from the outpatient surgical center down to the hospital. He under went lots of test to make sure he didn't have a blood clot..which he didn't. He spent the night on oxygen after they decided that he had just been over sedated. He was able to come home the next afternoon.

His arm has been completely immobile now for 5 weeks. He goes back to the doctor on Monday and we have been told he will be put into a brace with a dial and hinges so they can regulate the motion in his arm because they will have to "retrain" the tendons to move.

He has been completely off work and is going stir crazy at home. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks he will be back to work on light duty. He hates to push paper but that is gonna be the choice he has for awhile. My boss even said she has some stuff he can do down here in dispatch so that will be good.

So there is an update...plus I thought this blog needed a new post.

Hello and Happy New Year

Hello family and Happy New Years! I haven't added any comments before so I thought this would be a great time to start. I hope all families are happy and healthy. I look forward to hearing about each family and how you are all doing.

I will start off by saying my girls and I are happy and healthy, for the most part. My oldest daughter Chante, just had to have surgery on her foot to remove glass from it. I am happy to report she is doing well and healing just fine.

From what the news is reporting, the Pacific Northwest is being hit hard by flooding. We live in Vancouver and have been blessed that the major flooding has not effected us over here but we are praying for all the families that are not so lucky.

Know that we love each of you and wish you all the best.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving Family!

As is the case with law enforcement someone always has to be at work even if it's a holiday. Such is the case for me today. Dan is home with the girls watching the parade and I am at work..watching the parade.

When I get off work tonight at 6 pm we will be going over to our best friends the Mclimore's for dinner. Bryan is also an officer for the Mills Police Department and Andrea has become my best friend over the years. So we appreciate that they are willing to cook for us! We of course enjoy their company tons! So it will just be the 10 of us, which will be nice for us. Plus when you get our 4 girls and their 2 girls together it's always a party!

Anyway we hope that you enjoy your day where ever you maybe.
Love to all...

God willing. but if all is well i'll have my own gun shop. wish me luck. stephanie is tentatively planning on a march 27 wedding in st george utah. still on as planned. her soon to be hubby (matt) was involved in a car accident last week and had a couple surgeries minutes after arriving in the ER. some internal damage and a broken leg wich required pins. he spent about 5 days in the hospital and was discharged. until the next update... everyone take care and thanks for participating in the family blog. please encourage others to make an entry.

Hello to all

Hi Family,

I was able to make a quick trip to Dad's house this past week.. Monday - Friday... I just had to check to make sure he was doing well.. He is .. and is just as onry as every... I took some yoplait lite yogurt up there.. as I am on a diet... (didn't stick to it very well while there)... Gave some to daddy.. The first day he liked it a lot.. the 2nd day would not eat any at all.. the 3rd day he had more.. and Friday.. I cooked french toast and bacon.. I also took Omega 3 and Co-Q10 vitamins up there for his heart circulation.. He didn't like those either, but took them to get me to stop pushing them... Hopefully, he will continue to take them..

Jill, the cupboards are not quite that bare.. and he has eaten most of the canned fruits mom had done for him that is still good... He is invited out to ward member's homes for dinner occassionally... and eats out quite a bit.. cheaper than cooking.. I am also happy that mom was there to comfort you when you needed it... She is a good mother/grandmother and will always be there when we need her...

Congratulations Renae on your baptism... Being 8 is a very special time in your life's adventures... Wish I could be there, but not able to go that far from home these days...

Dad does not have a gmail account.. I didn't have time to set him up to read the blogs... So, please email daddy when ever possible.. He loves reading the family news...

Stephanie.. have you set a wedding date yet?

Well, have to go get ready for work... Oh yes, Bob was hired on at Wal mart... He is in the Deli/bakery dept... doing a great job too... They love him....

Love to all my family.
